Welcome back, Winter Semester and Weekly Events!

After a short hiatus, glenouvelles has returned to continue bringing you the communications updates from the GCSU! Our 2nd Semester has begun, and with that comes a whole host of events happening in and around Glendon:

  • Glendon Election Nomination Period Begins!

Available at the GCSU Office (York Hall B126) now are NOMINATION FORMS for those wishing to run for the 2009/2010 student union council. Applicants are asked to pick up both a nomination package, as well as a nomination list to be completed and returned by March 23rd.

These are the positions available:

  • President
  • Vice-President
  • Director of External Affairs
  • Director of Academic Affairs
  • Director of Clubs and Services
  • Director of Bilingual Affairs
  • Director of Communications
  • Senator (2)
  • Fall Councillor (4)
  • Year-Long Councillor (6)

  • Movie Night – HAIRSPRAY @ Glendon Women’s Centre

When: 7:00pm
Where: Glendon Women’s Centre (Hilliard D124)

To help kick off Healthy Body Image Month at Glendon, events will be held at the Glendon Women’s Centre beginning with the first of several movie nights geared towards fostering positive attitudes towards body image. “Mocktails” will be provided!

  • Healthy Eating on a Budget

Where: Glendon Women’s Centre (Hilliard D124)
When: 12:00pm (noon)


This Friday, March 13, York Health Peer Educators will be on hand to present a workshop on “Healthy Eating on a Budget.” After all, we’re in a recession, and you don’t have to break the bank in order to be healthy. This will take place at NOON (as opposed to the earlier advertised time of 10 am). And yes, FREE snacks are provided.
