OTL @Keele

Salut!

D-Frosh training is officially complete, and tomorrow is already the big day!!! Tomorrow the Frosh will be moving in and we are more than ready!  The D-Frosh spent all day Thursday and Friday this week at the Keele campus with the other York colleges completing “Orient the Leader,” a fun-filled program of activities preparing the D-Frosh for the week to come.  What a success it was!  We began the two-day period with a cheer off between colleges, and I must say that the two days really demonstrated how much we’re loved at the Keele campus.  As Glendon students, we made sure that we sent the love right back.  Here are just a couple of pictures of our wonderful training days spent at Keele…

Désirez-vous une POUTINE?

Si vous voulez un petit goût de la belle province, je vous encourager à commander une poutine aux deux restos ici à Toronto. Pas exactement des poutines authentiques MAIS elles sont proches.  With j’EXPLORE underway on campus at Glendon and more francophones in the city, poutines are the way to go – especially if you don’t order them from places like Harvey’s, Burger King, or the tourist-friendly poutine in front of City Hall. These two very recently opened and have quickly become a big hit with Torontonians who are in the know:

  1. Smoke’s Poutinerie (http://www.smokespoutinerie.com/) – located by Adelaide/Simcoe, close to St. Andrew station – this place offers you some hefty boxes of delicious fries, gravy, and cheese curd goodness – with a whole array of different toppings to choose from. Apparently the pulled pork is supposed to be the best- personally, it makes the poutine taste wierd in my opinion. Go for the Veg. Beware: order too big a box and you’ll find yourself struggling to finish it on your own. 7 – 10$ ish.poutine1
  2. Poutini’s House of Poutine – (http://wwww.poutini.com) a bit farther out west on Queen, past Trinity Bellwoods Park and smack dab in the middle of Ossington and Dufferin Sts, this is Toronto’s newest and hottest poutine place (started by the Laliberté brothers), and the prices are well worth the trek. Served in a cup/bowl instead of a box, look out because this place just might be Cash-Only. It’s looking pretty promising so I’m hoping to check it out soon enough! 6 – 7$ ish.poutine2
